Web/browser Safe Fonts

Fonts which are supposedly common on all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux etc) are often called web safe fonts. You can be quite confident the fonts below will work on all platforms/browsers apart from symbolic fonts (please see notes at bottom of screen). I have also included a list of fallback fonts for each initial font. These can be used if the initial font is not found as long as they are added to your CSS in the following format.

1. Symbolic fonts are only reliable in internet explorer. A substitute font is usually displayed in other browsers.
